As a young person I was told to drink my entire milk due to an increase in Milk Snakes caused by rainy days. This meant that there would soon be a shortage. The snake was long and big, black, and was able to slip into barns beneath the cloak of darkness, going slowly and carefully the cows never had a chance. It would cling to the cows' utter and not give an thought to the children who's teeth would be ripped out and develop brittle bones, and it forced the poor cow to drink dry. We were informed that farmers would go to the barn during time breaks to discover dust on the cows' mouths as they tried to milk it.
The snake was a sought-after farm animal and farmers would pay huge amounts for each one that was called to their attention. Although it was not something that I thought about, imagine how large the milk snake must have been to drink up to four gallons milk per sitting. It was about twenty-five feet and as big around as footballs. It is certain that a snake this big would be easy to spot, but unlike the vampire that was able to drink six liters of blood from just one human being It was a feat of magic since nobody ever took the first dollar of all of the bounty's offered for this milk thief, not one. It's sad to say that the milk serpent is a myth. It's never been ever been a reality and it isn't likely to be. Snakes are lactose-intolerant. Inducing a snake drink two ounces of water could cause its death. Beware!
What occurred? This frightening creature is the result two completely different types of snakes which were both amorous. The male was a Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake who came upon an Southern Pine snake, they were both looking at one another, stars were seen by both and cupid started shooting arrows across the entire area and they both fell in love with each one. There were many young uns as were all married couples at the time. They were not your typical young uns. They had half the arsenal of defencive weapons as their fathers and half that of their mothers. The Bull snake, as it was called, was one of the most dangerous animals that you might encounter in the woods.
