Hoop Snake, rolling at amazing speeds and avoiding cars and trees, chases its prey on hills and down up and down hills, as well as through the stairs through the yard and past the cat. As a kid, I constantly looked around to protect myself from the known snake. I didn't see it or have ever been chased by it. My generation was probably more agile than older generations, as nearly everyone who talked about this snake was either a victim or had a relative who was stomped by one. It's very sad when children realize that Hoop Snakes don't exist. With such a deep dread that they voiced, the adults talked about the animal in the same detail that a child would not have the opportunity to hear their stories.
It's impossible to determine the exact number of children who were punished by the people who created this tail for being late for dinner or not getting there on time. This was extremely complicated for a lot of kids from my neighborhood. Now, I know there has never been or will ever be a Hoop Snake. I'm devastated by this because of all the times I was an infant. Imagine how much strength it would be if the animal were alive. Its ability to turn its back is a defiance to all laws of physics. It also can swerve in and around trees while its eyes are focused either downward or upward, never seeing what lay in the path. As I was walking around looking at every corner and nook, I gave a smidge of laughter to a few adults. This story has been discredited.
We then have the fearsome Milk Snake. He was responsible for children developing brittle bones disease. When I was a child I was instructed to drink all my milk because there has been an increase in the number of Milk Snakes due to the torrential rains, and there was likely to be a shortage of milk fairly soon. This Milk Snake wasn't related at all to the actual Milk Snake (Lampropeltis Triangulum) and was a member of the King Snake family. The snake was huge and black and would sneak into barns beneath an eerie cloth. It moved swiftly and carefully, which meant that the cow wouldn't stand any chance. It would latch onto the cows' utters and never give an thought to the children who's teeth would fall out , and later develop brittle bones, and it forced the poor cow to drink dry. The story told us farmers would come by the barn in the evening to wash the cows and leave it uttering as they milked it.
A bounty was set up by some farmers for every milk snake they brought in. While I wasn't thinking about it, can you imagine how big the milk snake would have been to have consumed three or four five gallons of milk in one sitting? The snakes are visible at 25 feet and are as big as the size of a football. Although a snake of this size would have been very difficult to find, it is not impossible to catch. Unfortunately, the milk snake myth is now a myth. Snakes are lactose intolerant, so forcing the animals to drink two ounces could result in their death. Beware!
What ever occurred? This frightening animal is the product of two extremely lusty and distinct species of snakes who happened upon one and other a few minutes ago. Male was an Eastern Diamondback snake that happened to encounter the Southern Pine serpent. Both observed each other, the stars were spotted by both, and then cupid started shooting arrows around. They were a group of young women as did all married couples. They were not typical young uns. They were snakes who had half the arsenal of their mother and half the father's. The Bull snake known as the Bull snake, was one of the most dangerous animals you could encounter in the woods.
