It is safe to say, every child who ventured out of doors at some point has been advised to keep their eyes on some of these amazing creatures, lest you be another victim to a mi-rooding reptile, known as the "Hoop Snake". The snake's muscular body can create the perfect 360-degree circular shape on the ground thanks to its extra length. It then takes its tail and makes an actual Hula Hoop by placing it into its mouth.

The Hoop Snake is able to move at a blazing speed, keeping clear of trees, cars, and any other objects that might be in its way. It chases its victim down, through hills and down and up steps, through the backyard, and even over the cat. There is nothing that can stop this ancient reptile from following a child and their most sought-after prey. I can recall looking around every corner as a child to make sure my safety against the familiar snake. But, I never saw the Hoop Snake myself and I never met anyone else who was or was chased by it. My generation probably was faster than the earlier generations as almost every adult who was able to talk about the snake was either one of the victims or had a family member who was killed by one. It's tragic to watch children growing up and realizing that there aren't Hoop Snakes. It was a sad discovery for children to discover that Hoop Snakes weren't real.

There is no way to know how many children got spanked by the originators. It was a very stressful period for many kids in my former neighborhood, and I can tell that in all sincerity. Now I see that there has never been or is not going to be the existence of a Hoop Snake. This is tragic because of the years I lost as a child. What is the strength that this creature could have in the event that it existed? It's amazing to be able flip onto its back, defying the laws of physical physics. Also, its ability to steer in and out of trees and other objects. While its eyes are constantly focused on the ground or upwards but it doesn't know the Lay in its direction. When I was out walking taking in every turn and nook, I gave a smidge of laughter to some adults. The story I told you about isn't real. I'm not a Hoop Snake.

Next is the unwelcomed Milk Snake. It was responsible to kids getting Brittlebone Disease. As a youngster I was told to drink all my milk since there was an rise in the number of Milk Snakes because of the heavy rains. It was likely to be an influx of milk soon. This Milk Snake wasn't related to the real Milk Snake (Lampropeltistriangulum), in any way. The large, fat snake was black and was moving in deliberate and slow manners, making it hard for cows to avoid. It would grab onto cows' utter and not give any thought to the children whose teeth were sure to fall out , and later acquire brittle bones, it forced the poor cow to drink dry. It was our understanding that the barn would be visited by farmers during the day break, who would leave behind dust as the cows would utter their thoughts as they milked them.

This snake was a prized farm animal and farmers would shell out huge sums of money for each one called to their attention. I've never thought of it, but can you imagine how large a milk snake could have gotten to consume up to four gallons in a single sitting? The snake is around twenty-five feet long and the size of a football. It is certain that a snake this big would be easy to spot, but unlike the vampire who could drink six liters of blood from one human it was magical because no one ever got the first cent of the bounty's offered for this milk thief, not one. The milk serpent is not real. It's never ever been and isn't likely to be. Snakes are lactose-intolerant, therefore forcing a snake into drinking two ounces milk could be fatal. Don't fall for it!
