The Hoop Snake moves at a staggering speed, keeping clear of trees as well as cars and other obstacles in its way. It pursues its victim down, down hills and down hills and up steps, across the yard, and then over the cat. Nothing can stop the ancient reptile from following children and their most sought-after prey. I can remember watching every corner as a child to make sure my safety from the familiar snake. However I didn't see the Hoop Snake myself, nor did I meet any other child who was or was chased by it. My generation probably was faster than the older generations, as nearly everyone who talked about this snake was a victim or knew someone who was hit by one. It is sad for kids to discover that Hoop Snakes are extinct. Adults would tell their tales with such fear and precision that it was difficult for children to imagine the animal.
It is impossible to know the exact number of children who were punished by the people who created this tail because they were tardy for dinner or not getting there on time. It was a confusing period for a lot of children in my neighborhood. It is now apparent that there's never been or will ever be an Hoop Snake. It is partly due to my childhood. Do you think of the power this animal would have in the event that it was real? Its ability to turn on its back defies the physical laws. It is also able to turn around and through trees with its eyes fixed either downwards or upwards and never noticing what is in its path. As I walked away, I looked around every corner. The story was a failure, there has ever been an Hoop Snake, and there will never be another.
Next up is the terrifying Milk Snake, who caused the brittlebone disorder in children. As a young person I was told to drink all of my milk because of an increase in Milk Snakes caused by rainy days. This meant that there will soon be a shortage. The Milk Snake was not related to the real Milk Snake (Lampropeltistriangulum), in any way. The snake was large and fat, all black and slipped into barns under the cover of darkness slow and deliberate the cows never had an opportunity. The snake would grab cows' words and go further to suck the cow dry. We were informed that farmers would go to the barn at the end of the day to find dust on the cows' utter as they attempted to milk it.
Certain farmers offered a bounty to this snake , and would offer big bucks for every milk snake that was brought to them. I have never thought of it but can you picture how big a milk snake would have become to consume up to four gallons at once? We are talking twenty-five feet, and as large as the size of a football. While a snake of this size would be very difficult to catch however, it's not impossible to capture. Unfortunately, the milk snake myth has become an untruth. Snakes are lactose-intolerant so forcing them to drink two ounces could cause their death. I was fooled once again!
What ever happened with what happened to "Venomous Bull Snake" that is an entirely new species of snake? This frightening creature was born of two totally different species of snakes, who both happened to be amorous. The male was an Eastern Diamondback rat snake who encountered the female Southern Pine snake. After a brief glance, stars were spotted by both. Cupid started shooting arrows all over the place and they fell madly and in love. The couple had a number of young uns like most married couples. These were not ordinary young uns but snakes with half of the fathers defencive weaponry , and half of the mothers. All things considered, the Bull Snake, as it was called was one of most unpleasant animals to encounter in the woods.
