As a child I was told to drink my entire milk as there had been an increase in the number of Milk Snakes as a result of the heavy rains. There would be a shortage of milk very soon. This Milk Snake was not related in any way to the actual Milk Snake, which is a member of King Snake Family (Lampropeltistriangulum). This snake was fat and black, and would sneak into barns beneath an eerie cloak. It moved slowly and deliberatey, so the cow wouldn't stand a chance. It would grab onto the cow's words, and never even think about children. Their teeth were certain to come out, and it then consumed the blood of the cow. There was a legend that said farmers would visit the barn during the day to dust the cows while they tried to milk them.
A bounty was established by some farmers for every milk snake that they brought into. It was something I'd not thought of, but it is amazing to think that the size of the milk snake was to consume up to 4 gallons in one go. It was about twenty-five feet, and as large as a football. It's obvious that a snake of that size could have been simple for someone to find. But, as with the vampire who could drink up to six liters of blood from one person it was pure magical. No one ever received the first dollar of any bounty offered for this milk theft thief. It's sad to say that the milk snake is not real it never was and ever will ever. Snakes can't tolerate lactose so forcing a snake to drink two ounces of snake water could cause death. Fooled again!
