Hoop Snake speeds at lightning speed, flying through trees, cars, and other things in its path, and chases its victim up, up hills. I can recall looking around every corner as a child to make sure my safety from the familiar snake. But, I never saw it myself or met anyone else who was pursued by the Hoop Snake. Well I guess I provided some adults with a little bit of laughter while I walked away looking around every corner I came to. This story has been debunked.
The next one is the frightening Milk Snake, who caused the brittlebone disorder in children. When I was a child, I was warned to drink the entire milk. Due to the increase in the amount of Milk Snakes during severe rains, there would likely be an imminent shortage of milk. The Milk Snake wasn't connected to the real Milk Snake (Lampropeltistriangulum), in any way. The snake was massive and all-black and would slip into barns under a blanket of darkness. A cow wouldn't be capable of stopping it from moving slowly and purposefully. It would cling to the cows' utters, never ever thinking about the kids whose teeth were likely to fall out. Then it would flush the cow's water. There was a legend that said farmers would go to the barn in the morning to leave dust behind the cows while they tried to milk them.
The reward was paid by farmers who would shell out a large amount of money for every milk snake brought to their farm. Though I never thought about it, can you imagine the size of the milk snake must be to consume three to four five gallons of milk in a single sitting? It could reach up to twenty-five feet and is the same height as a football. Although a snake of this size would have been very difficult to catch but it's not impossible to capture. Unfortunately, the milk snake legend is now an untruth. Snakes are lactose-intolerant so forcing them to drink two ounces could lead to their demise. Don't be fooled!
