Now I realize there was never and will never be there ever be a Hoop Snake and I'm devastated by this most likely due to the years lost during my child hood. What is the strength the animal could possess in the event that it was real? To be able to flip up onto its back is a defiance to the laws of physics as does its ability to swerve between trees and other obstacles while its eyes are looking at either up or down and not noticing what lay in its path. I'm pretty sure I provided lots of laughter to some adults as they watched me look around at every corner I walked by. This tale has been discredited.
Then, we come to the feared Milk Snake. He was responsible for kids developing Brittle bones disease. When I was a child, I was told to drink all of my milk as there had been an increase in Milk Snakes because of the torrential rains, and there was sure to be a shortage of milk fairly shortly. The Milk Snake wasn't related to the real milk snake, a member of the King Snake family, (Lampropeltis triangulum) but not in any way. This snake was large and black, and would slide into barns under a blanket of darkness. A cow wouldn't be capable of stopping it from moving at a slow pace and deliberately. It would grasp cows' utters and not give a damn about the children whose teeth would soon fall out. The snake would then take the cow dry. According to our sources farmers used to come to the barn during breaks in the day to collect dust and milk cows.
Certain farmers offered a bounty to this snake and would pay huge sums for each milk snake that was brought to them. Although it was not something that I thought about Imagine how huge a milk snake could be to consume up to 4 gallons milk per sitting. The snake could grow up to twenty-five feet long and be as large as a football. It was difficult to locate a snake of this size and powerful, but it was truly magical, just like the vampire who could drink six liters from one human. The only person who ever took home the first dollar of all the bounty's offered to this milk thieves. Sad to say that the milk snake is a legend, never was one, never has been, and will never ever. Snakes are lactose intolerant, so forcing a snake into drinking two ounces milk could be fatal. Don't be fooled!
