I think I did provide lots of laughter to some adults as they watched me look around at every corner I passed. This story has been discredited. never was ever a Hoop Snake, and never will be.

Due to the increase in the quantity of Milk Snakes that occur during severe rains, there would likely be an imminent shortage of milk. The snake was large and black and would sneak into barns beneath an eerie cover. The snake moved slowly and deliberatey, so it didn't have an opportunity. It would latch onto the cows' utters and never give a thought to the kids with teeth that were likely to be ripped out and acquire brittle bones, it forced the poor cow to drink dry. The story told us that farmers would stop by the barn in the evening to clean the cows, and then leave it to utter as they milked the cows.
Some farmers had a bounty on the snake and would pay large sums of money for every milk snake that was delivered to them. Although it was not something I was thinking about I can only imagine how big a milk snake would have been to consume up to 4 gallons milk every time. The snake could grow up to 25 feet in length and as wide as the size of a football. Surely a snake that large could have been simple to locate, but just like the vampire who was able to consume six Liters of blood from a single human being It was a feat of magic since nobody ever took the first dollar of all of the bounty's offered for the milk thief. Not one. The legend of the milk snake is gone. Snakes are lactose-intolerant so forcing them to drink two ounces could lead to their demise. Don't be fooled!
