We are able to safely declare that every child that has ventured out into the open at any time has been advised to watch for these incredible creatures. Less you fall prey to the mi-roding reptile, called "Hoop Snake". The snake's extra muscular length lets it make an entire 360-degree circle while on the ground. The snake then inserts its tail inside its mouth to create a Hula Hoop. It then flips over onto its side, and the chase begins!

Speedy and incredibly fast, the Hoop Snake is able to dodge cars, trees and all other obstacles in its path, the viscious Hoop snake chases its victim down upwards, down hills and up steps, through the yard and over the cat in the neighborhood and nothing will stop this reptile's ancient history when it's on the trail of a child, their preferred prey. As a child I was always looking around every corner to ensure safety against this well-known snake. However, I did not have the opportunity to observe one or meet another child who was victimized by one. My generation was likely faster than those of the past because almost all adults who spoke about the creature were victims or had relatives who had been stomped on by a Hoop Snake. It's sad to see kids growing older and realizing that there aren't any Hoop Snakes. With such a fearful tone that they voiced, the adults spoke about the creature with such detail that a kid wouldn't get to listen to their stories.

There's no way to tell the number of kids who received a spanking by the originators of this tail because they were late for supper or for not getting home on time because they were slow walking, looking at every spot in the distance where a Hoop Snake might lay in the waiting area, returning to their home. This was extremely complicated for a lot of kids from my former neighborhood. Now, I know there's never been and will ever be an Hoop Snake. I'm saddened by this, due to the time I spent as a child. Can you even imagine the strength that the animal would possess if it was real? Its ability to turn its back is a defiance to all laws of physics. It is also able to move around and in between trees while its eyes are focused either downward or upward and never noticing what is on the other side of the way. I'm pretty sure I provided a lot of laughter for some adults as they observed me looking around at every corner I passed. This tale has been dismissed.

Next we have the dreaded Milk Snake who was responsible for children developing Brittle Bone Disease. When I was a kid I was taught to drink my entire milk since there was an rise in the number of Milk Snakes because of the torrential rains. It was likely to be an influx of milk soon. The Milk Snake wasn't related at all to the real Milk Snake (Lampropeltis Triangulum), a member the King Snake family. This snake was long and large, and all black. It moved into barns underneath the darkness of the night, moving along slowly and deliberately and never giving a cow a chance. It would grasp onto cow's utters, not thinking of the kids with teeth that were likely to fall out. After that, it would drain the cow dry. We were told that farmers would stop by the barn in the evening to clean the cows, and leave it uttering as they milked it.

A bounty was set up by some farmers for each milk snake they brought in. It was something I'd never considered, but it's fascinating to consider how large the milk serpent would have had to be to drink up to 4 gallons at once. The snake can reach 25 feet in length and as wide as a football. It is obvious that a snake of that size would have been easy for someone to find. But, as with the vampire who was able drink up to six liters of blood from a single person, it was magic. No one ever received the first penny of any bounty offered for this milk thief. Sad to say that the milk snake is not real, never was one, ever will be. Snakes are lactose intolerant. Forcing a snake to drink two-ounces might cause the death of the snake. Don't be fooled.

What has occurred? This terrifying creature is the result of a pair of very different, but very amorous, snakes. They met one another only a few minutes ago. Male was an Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake that came upon an Southern Pine snake. They were looking at each other and they could see stars both. Cupid started shooting arrows across the entire area and they both fell head over heels in love with one another. Like every married couple (back the day) they were a mess of young women. These were not ordinary young people, but snakes that had half of the fathers defencive weaponry and half the mothers. All said and done, the Bull snake was one of the most dangerous animals you could find in the woods.
