Rolling at incredible speeds dodging cars, trees, and other objects that comes in its way, the viscious Hoop Snake chases its victim down upwards, down hills and up steps, across the yard, and even over the local cat and nothing will stop this reptile's ancient history when it is on the path of a child, their most sought-after prey. When I was a kid, I always looked around to be safe from the famous snake. I didn't see it , nor have I ever been caught by it. My generation probably grew quicker than previous generations, since almost every adult who spoke about this snake was one of the victims or knew someone who was killed by one. It's sad to see children grow up and discover there aren't any Hoop Snakes. They were a huge element of the kids' lives. Adults told their tales with such an intense dread in their voices and detailed the creature in such detail, that a child would never have had the chance.
There is no way to know how many children were spanked by the creators of the program. This was extremely confusing for many children in my old neighborhood. It is now clear that there has never been nor will ever be any Hoop Snake and I am devastated by this most likely due to the years lost during my child hood. Can you just imagine the strength that it could possess were this creature real? Turning over on its back is a feat that defies all laws. The ability of the animal to maneuver between trees and things is an impressive feat of strength. I think I did provide lots of laughter to some adults as they looked at me from every turn I went by. This story has been debunked.
Then we come to the dreaded Milk Snake who was responsible for the children who developed the bone disease known as brittle. When I was a kid, I was advised to drink my whole milk due to an increase in Milk Snakes caused by the heavy rains. This meant there was going to be a shortage of milk. The Milk Snake wasn't related to the actual milk snake, which is a part of the King Snake family, (Lampropeltis triangulum) but not in any way. This snake was long and fat, all black and slipped into barns under the darkness of the night, slow and deliberate, a cow never stood any chance. It would latch onto the cows' uttersand never considering the kids who's teeth could fall out. Then it would flush the cow dry. There was a legend that said farmers would visit the barn during the day to leave dust behind the cows while they tried to milk them.
The snake was a sought-after possession of farmers and they would pay huge amounts for each one that was at their notice. It was something I'd never considered, but it's amazing to consider that the size of the milk snake was to consume three to four gallons in one go. These snakes can be seen at 25 feet and are the size of a football. While a snake of this size would have been very difficult to find but it's not impossible to capture. The milk serpent is a myth. It's never been ever been a reality and it isn't likely to be. Snakes are lactose intolerant which means that forcing a snake to drinking two ounces milk could be fatal. You've been fooled!
What has happened to the brand new kind of snake, dubbed the "Venomous Bull Snake"? The frightful animal is the product of two very feisty and completely different species of snakes that came to each other few minutes ago. Male was an Eastern Diamondback rat snake who was able to see an Southern Pine snake. After a brief glance, the stars were seen by both. Cupid began shooting arrows everywhere and both fell madly in love. Like every married couple (back the day) they were a mess of young uns. They were not normal youngsters, but snakes sporting half of the fathers defencive weaponry and half the mothers. The Bull snake, as it was called, was one of the most dangerous animals you would find in the forests.
