It is safe to say, every child who was out in the open at one time or another has been advised to keep their eyes at the back of some of these amazing animals, less you become another victim who fell prey to a mi-rooding reptile, known as the "Hoop Snake". The muscular snake is able to form an ideal 360-degree circle sitting on the ground because of its length. It then puts its tail inside its mouth to form a living Hula Hoop. After that as if by magic, it flips on its back, and it begins the chase!

Hoop Snake, rolling at incredible speeds and keeping clear of trees and cars and trees, chases its prey on hills and down as well as down hills and up and down sets of stairs through the yard and over the cat. As a kid I sat at every corner to ensure safety against the known snake. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the opportunity to observe one or meet someone who was pursued by one. My generation probably was faster than the older generations, as nearly everyone who talked about the snake was either an innocent victim or had a relative who was hit by one. It is sad for kids to discover that Hoop Snakes are extinct. Adults told their tales with such fear in their voices and described this animal in detail that a child would never have had the chance.

It's hard to know how many children received spankings from the people who created this tail because they were late for supper, for not being on schedule or for taking a long walk, or looking at every possible spot a Hoop Snake might lurk, when they headed back home. This was a source of confusion for many youngsters in my community. I can tell you. It is now clear that there's never been and will never be a Hoop Snake. This is partly due to my childhood. Do you think of the strength it could have were this creature real? It's incredible to be able to flip on its side, defying the laws of physics. Also, its ability to steer into and out of trees and other objects. While its eyes are constantly either up or down, it never sees what Lay is in its way. I think I did provide lots of laughter to some adults as they watched me look around at every turn I went by. This tale is busted, never was a Hoop Snake and it will never be.

The dreaded Milk Snake is next. It is the cause of children suffering from bone diseases that are brittle. I was instructed as a child to drink my entire milk, because there was a rise in Milk Snakes due to the rainy season. It was probable that there would be a shortage very soon. This Milk Snake was not related to the actual milk snake, which is a part of the King Snake family, (Lampropeltis triangulum) and was not even remotely. The snake was completely long, black and large. It moved slow and cautiously and never put cows in danger. It would take the cow's' words and then go further to suck the cow dry. According to our sources farmers used to come to the barn during day breaks to gather dust and milk the cows.

The reward was paid by farmers who would pay a lot of money per milk snake they brought into their farms. Although it was not something that I thought about I can only imagine how big a milk snake could have been to consume up to 4 gallons of milk per sitting. It can reach twenty-five foot and can grow the same height like a football. It is obvious that a snake of that size could have been simple for someone to find. But, like the vampire that was able to consume six liters of blood from one individual, it was amazing. No one ever received the first cent of any reward offered to the milk theft thief. Sad to say, the milk serpent is a myth. It's never been ever been a reality and it isn't likely to be. Snakes are lactose-intolerant, which means that forcing a snake to drinking two ounces of milk could be fatal. Don't be fooled.

What ever happened to the brand new species of snake known as the "Venomous Bull Snake"? The frightful animal is the product of two extremely lusty and completely different species of snakes who happened upon one and other a few minutes ago. The male was an Eastern Diamondback rattlesnake who came upon the Southern Pine snake, they glanced at one and other the stars were observed by both and cupid started shooting arrows across the entire area and they both fell in love with the another. The couple was a group of young uns like most married couples. They were not normal young uns but snakes with half the fathers' defensive weaponry , and half of the mothers. In all fairness, the Bull Snake as it was referred to was one of most unpleasant animals to encounter in the woods.
