Hoop Snake speeds at lightning speed, darting cars, trees, and other things in its path, and pursues its victim upwards, through hills. I can remember watching every corner to make sure my safety from the familiar snake. Unfortunately, I never saw it, nor did I meet any other child who was chased by it. My generation was probably faster than the older generations, as nearly everyone who talked about this snake was an innocent victim or had a relative who was killed by one. It is sad to see kids growing older and realizing that there are no Hoop Snakes. It was a sad awakening for kids to realize that Hoop Snakes weren't real.
It is impossible to know the number of kids who received a spanking by the originators of this tail because they were late for dinner or not getting home on time because they walked slow, looking at every spot in the distance that there was a Hoop Snake might lay in waiting for them returning home. It was a bit confusing for a lot of the children in my old neighborhood. As of now, I'm aware that there's never been nor will ever be an Hoop Snake. I'm saddened by this, due to my experiences as a child. Do you think about how powerful it would be if this animal were real? The ability to turn onto its side defies laws of physics. This animal can also navigate through trees, while its eyes look either downwards or upwards. I think I did provide plenty of laughs for a few adults as they watched me look around at every turn I went by. The story I told you about isn't real. I am no Hoop Snake.
Next we have the dreaded Milk Snake who was responsible for children developing the bone disease known as brittle. As a child, I was advised to drink my entire milk because of the increase in Milk Snakes caused by the heavy rains. This meant that there would soon be a shortage. The Milk Snake wasn't related to the real milk snake, a member of the King Snake family, (Lampropeltis triangulum), not at all. The snake was huge and black, and would sneak into barns beneath the cover of a dark cover. It moved slowly and carefully, which meant that the cow wouldn't stand a chance. It would grab the cows' words and then go further to suck the cow dry. It was said farmers would come by the barn at night to dust the cows and leave it uttering as they milked the cows.
Farmers would be rewarded with a bounty, and would be willing to pay a huge sum for any milk snake that was brought to them. Although it was not something I had thought of Imagine how huge the milk snake must have been to consume up to four gallons of milk per sitting. This snake is about twenty-five feet in length and is as large as a football. A snake this big would have been hard to find, but just as the vampire that could consume six liters of blood from one person It was magical. Since nobody ever got the first penny from the rewards for the milk thief. The legend of the milk snake is no more. Snakes are lactose intolerant so forcing a snake into drinking two ounces of milk could be fatal. You've been fooled!
What happened to the new species of snake known as the "Venomous Bull Snake"? This terrifying animal is result of two different and amorous snakes that met some time ago. Male snake was the Eastern Diamondback rat snake who encountered the female Southern Pine snake. After a brief glance, stars were seen by both. Cupid was shooting arrows all over the place and they fell madly and in love. As with all married couples (back then) they had a plethora of young un. They were not typical young uns. They were snakes who had half the arsenal of their mother and half the father's. Summated, the Bull snake, as it was called, was one of many bad animals that you could encounter in the woods.
