Speedy and incredibly fast, the Hoop Snake is able to dodge trees, cars and other objects that comes in its way and slicing through the air, the ferocious Hoop Snake chases its victims down upwards, down hills as well as up sets of steps, across the yard and over the local cat but nothing can stop this ancient reptile when it's on the trail of a child, their preferred prey. As a child I was always looking around every corner to insure my safety from this well known snake and I guess I did a good job of staying clear of it, since I never did get to encounter one, or even meet another kid who either encountered one or was caught by one. My generation was likely faster than the previous generation because almost all adults who discussed this animal were victims or had relatives who had been attacked by a Hoop Snake. It's tragic to watch youngsters growing older and recognizing that there aren't any Hoop Snakes. Adults would tell their tales with so much anxiety and details that it was difficult for a child to envision this animal.
There is no telling the number of kids who received a slap from the makers of this tail due to being late for dinner or not being on time simply because they were slow walking taking in every location in the distance, where there was a Hoop Snake could be waiting to wait for them, while on their way home. It was a bit confusing for a lot of the children in my neighborhood. It is now apparent that there's never been nor will ever be a Hoop Snake. This is in part due to my childhood. Do you think of the power this creature would possess in the event that it was real? Its ability to turn on its back defies the laws of physics. It is also able to turn around and through trees with its eyes fixed either downwards or upwards and never noticing what is within the route. They seemed a little amused watching them look around every corner that I passed by. This story has been discredited.
Next is the unwelcome Milk Snake. It was responsible to kids getting brittlebone disease. As a youngster I was told to drink the entire milk. Because of the increasing number of Milk Snakes in severe rains, there would likely be the possibility of a shortage of milk in the near future. This Milk Snake wasn't even a bit related to the actual Milk Snake (Lampropeltis Triangulum) and was a member of the King Snake family. This snake was long and large, and all black. It was able to slip into barns beneath the darkness of the night, slow and deliberate and never giving a cow a chance. It would latch onto cows ' utterings and not think about children. Their teeth were bound to come out, and then it took the cow's blood. We were informed that farmers would return to the barn after a time breaks to discover dust leaving the cows mouths as they tried to milk it.
Farmers were rewarded with a bounty and would offer huge sums of money for any milk snake that was brought to them. I have never thought of it before, but can you think of the size of a milk snake that must have grown to consume up to four gallons in one sitting? These snakes can be seen at twenty-five ft and can be as large as a football. A snake this big could have been difficult to find, but just like the vampire who could consume six liters blood from one victim, it was magic. Since nobody ever made the first cent from the rewards for the milk theft thief. Sad to say that the milk snake is a legend it never was and never will be. Snakes are lactose intolerant and forcing the animals to drink two ounces could lead to their demise. I was fooled once again!
What is the story behind the new species of snake called "Venomous Bull Snake?" This terrifying creature is the result of a pair of extremely different, but very amorous snakes. They met just a little while ago. Male snake was an Eastern Diamondback snake that happened to encounter the Southern Pine serpent. Both were looking at each other, and stars were observed by both and the cupids began shooting arrows all around. Like every married couple (back when) they had a mess of young women. They were not normal youngsters, but snakes sporting half the fathers' defensive weapons and half of the mothers. The Bull snake, as it was called was among the most dangerous animals you might encounter in the forests.
