Every child that ventures outdoors is advised to be on the lookout for the "Hoop Snake", a migrating reptile. This muscular, long snake can form the perfect 360° circle using its body when it's on the ground. Then, it puts its tail in its mouth to form an actual Hula Hoop. After that, like magic, it turns on its side and begins the chase!

Hoop Snake is a speedy reptile that moves at high speeds, avoiding trees and vehicles. When it's on trail of their prey, the Hoop Snake will chase its victim through the yard, over the cat and then climb up the steps. I was a child and looked around every corner to make sure that I was safe from this snake. However, I didn't encounter any other child who was pursued or witnessed one due to it. My generation probably was more agile than those of the past since the majority of adults who spoke about the creature were victims or had relatives of those who were victimized by the Hoop Snake. It's tragic to watch children growing up and realizing that there aren't Hoop Snakes. The adults told their stories with such an intense dread in their voice and described this animal in such detail, a child would never have had the chance.

The originators of this tail do not know how many kids were given spankings for being late for dinner or not being punctual. It was because they walked slowly and looked at every spot far away where there was a Hoop Snake could be waiting. It was a bit confusing for a lot of the kids from my former neighborhood. Now, I know there's never been nor will ever be a Hoop Snake. I'm saddened by this due to all the times I was growing up. Imagine the strength it would have if it were alive. The ability to turn onto its side defies physical laws. The animal is also able to navigate through trees, while its eyes are either looking towards the sky or down. As I was walking around taking in every turn and nook, I gave a smidge of laughter to a few adults. The story is over. There has never been any Hoop snake, and there never will be.

Next is the unwelcome Milk Snake. It was the reason for children to develop brittlebone disease. I was taught as a kid to drink my entire milk because there was a rise in Milk Snakes resulting from the torrential rains. It was probable that there was going to be a shortage soon. This Milk Snake wasn't related at all to the real Milk Snake (Lampropeltis Triangulum) and was a member of the King Snake family. This snake was fat and black, and could sneak into barns under an eerie cover. It moved slow and carefully, which meant that a cow didn't stand an opportunity. It would grab onto cows ' utterings and not even think about children. Their teeth were certain to fall out, and then it took the cow's blood. We were told that farmers would come to the barn during the end of the day to find dust settling on the cow's teeth as they attempted to milk it.

Farmers had a bounty and would pay big money for any milk snake that was brought to them. I've never considered it, but can you imagine how big a milk snake would have become to consume up to four gallons at once? It could reach up to twenty-five feet and can be nearly as tall like a football. It is obvious that a snake that big could have been simple for someone to find. But, as with the vampire that was able to drink up to six liters of blood from one individual, it was magic. It was never the first dollar of any reward offered to this milk thieves. The mythical milk snake is no more. Snakes are lactose intolerant and forcing them to drink 2 ounces of water could cause their death. Beware!

What ever happened with the "Venomous Bull Snake" which is a completely new snake species? This terrifying creature is the result of two very different and amorous snakes that were able to meet in the past. Male snake was an Eastern Diamondback snake that happened to meet a Southern Pine serpent. Both looked at the other, and stars were observed by both and then cupid started shooting arrows throughout. Like all married couples, they had a lot of young women. These were not ordinary young people, but snakes that had half of the fathers defencive weaponry , and half of the mothers. When all was done and done the Bull snake was considered to be one of the most dangerous animals you could find in the forests.
